The Bramble Stitch

Quite a hard stitch as it involves a lot of counting, but it leaves with you a very pretty pattern and delicate look.

Another Ear Warmer.... yet again! :)

I made another Ear Warmer!  This one is pink and gray with a button from of off old army pants of all things! :)  I also added a few embellishments on this one.

A view of the flower...  same pattern as the Poinsettia.

I love using the Lion Brand Wool Blend...  it gives a very pretty blend with the colors.

My sister, Havilah is wearing it here- even though it is an adult's size.

One of the tiny, tiny flowers... once again the body of the warmer is the Irish Moss stitch- my favorite!

Poinsettia Ear Warmer

I finished my Ear Warmer that I mentioned in this post!!  This is absolutely one of my favorite patterns and styles for the Ladies' Ear Warmer.  The Irish Moss Stitch not only looks lovely, but also gives the Ear Warmer a bit of a stretch.

I love how beautifully the gray and red colors blend together and then the steel button adds such a lovely touch!

The flower is a Poinsettia for which I was so happy to find a simple pattern for online.

What are some of your favorite colors to blend together?

Cotton Ski Hat

My sister made a deal with me. :) I would knit her a hat and in return she would give me all the left over yarn! Who could resist such a "cute", "adorable" sister? ;-) Plus some of it was cotton yarn!

This was my first experience knitting a large item with cotton yarn.  I actually like using cotton yarn- it slides very nicely on the needles.

I knitted this from my "Roses Are Red" pattern.  You can read more about my pattern, here.

I hope you like your new hat, De-De! :)

January Projects Update

Here are a few projects that I completed and one that I'm working on right now!  :)

This is an Ear Warmer that I made for my brother, Jordan.  I did the simple Knit stitch for this once since I was working mostly on the shape I wanted for an Ear Warmer for men.  It's slightly like my ladies' style except for the fact that's it's much broader, has no extras, and takes a longer time to make!  Here's an up close of Jordan's.  It was fun to learn how to use a double stranded yarn for the first time.

Here's an Ear Warmer I made for my father!  With this one I did the Rib-Stitch to start out and then just Knit and later into Purl.  Daddy's has two buttons since his head is larger then Jordan's.  The light grey wool mix yarn with the greyish buttons was perfect for this project!

This is a ski-hat is for my sister, Eden!  She donated her yarn to me- how could I say no??  It's a cotton yarn and feels very different from the softer yarn that I'm used to.  I'm using my Roses are Red pattern for this hat.  You can read more about it here or purchase it as an e-pattern download at this link.  I really like how the colors blend together with this project!

Lastly, I finished a cowl for my youngest brother (pictures coming eventually) and am just about making a ladies' Ear Warmer out of some lovely grey yarn with a touch of red for the flower.  I love how the colors go together so nicely!  Pictures coming soon!

What projects have been working on this January??
