Recent Project: Painting

Daddy and I have been working on our deck to get it ready for winter.  Nearly every year we have to either stain or paint our deck.  Previous years we have put a stain on it, but since the weather is so hard on it~ we decided to to it a bit differently this year and paint it with a very thick, sandy paint.  We put a couple coats on the deck and *several* coats on the stairs.  Daddy also painted the railings which we've never done before.  They look great!

Here is the hot tub (never used it!) that I painted with just a normal paint:
Here is the front door entrance to our house.  Daddy took out the flower area and put a bench in instead.  The other bench is just cut out of the picture, but matches this one as well.
This is a self-portrait I tried to take of myself before I started painting again:
This is another area we have been working on (everyone worked on this).  This is where our hose bib is.  We got lots of great, large rocks left over from the loggers!!
Here are the stairs leading to the front door~ just before I did the second coat:
Here is a view of the stairs leading to the mudroom and a view of the deck~ all ready for winter!!
Hope you enjoyed our Winter Prep Project!

Monumental: A Film by Kirk Cameron

http://www.monumentalmovie.com/

Actor Kirk Cameron’s new film, “Monumental” was released in theaters on March 27th, 2012.  Many theaters (including the theater where I had the privilege of seeing the film.) were sold out.

The film illustrates the problems in our country which would include economic problems, social problems, and political problems.  As with almost any crisis, people are out to find someone to blame.  As Kirk Cameron puts it in the film, “Government blames big business, Big business blames big government.  The Church blames Hollywood, Hollywood blames the Church.”   Instead of looking for the big culprit, we need to find a solution!  Continue Reading here
