Recently, all three of us sisters made an Italian dinner for our family:
Shiloh made the Italian Bread Rolls~
|Judah thought the roll looked like a baby! :)|
Bethany made the Salad~
Eden made the Spaghetti (from a very special recipe!!)~
We also decided to make some dessert, but since we couldn't find an Italian one for our theme we found a quick and easy brownie recipe... We hope you will enjoy it too!
Whole Wheat Brownie Pie
1/3 cup oil (we used Safflower Oil)
1/3 cup sugar (we used Sucanat)
1/3 cup of honey
2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup whole wheat flour (we used Spelt)
1/3 cup toasted or raw wheat germ (we used raw)
1/3 cup cocoa or carob powder (we used raw cacao powder)
1/4 tsp. salt
1) Beat oil, sugar, honey, and vanilla together.
2) Add eggs one at a time
3) Stir together whole wheat flour, wheat germ, cocoa powder, and salt. Add to wet mixture, beating just until blended.
4) Pour into a greased (we used coconut oil) 9" pie pan.
5) Bake at 350* for 25 minutes
Variation: Sprinkle with 1/4 cup chopped nut or sunflower seeds before baking. We used walnuts and of course Eden added some chocolate chips on top--- Mommy's favorite! :)
